Salesperson

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented, experienced individual who can combine their interest in plants with a desire to achieve sales goals, along with excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up. The successful candidate will understand that we offer a service and desire to be an extension of our customer's business; understanding their needs and providing rare and unusual plants that will showcase our customer’s talent and vision."

QUALIFICATIONS:
* A bachelor's degree in horticulture, or equivalent experience
* At least 5 years of experience building relationships and managing sales accounts
* A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record

JOB DUTIES:
* Handle new sales calls for pricing and availability.
* Manage current customer accounts.
* Create availability lists specific for a variety of customer types and needs.
* Understand when the windows of opportunity exist for each customer type.
* Travel to trade shows and annual customer site visits.
* Do plant purchasing and sourcing.
* Tag plant material on site and off site.
* Tour customers in all kinds of weather.
* Make heavy use of phone and computer.

HOURS: During our heavy shipping seasons or when needed, this position would require longer work days and possibly 6 day work weeks. Be available to tour customers after hours or on weekends if needed.
